Abstract:
Daemon earns his keep as a calculating fighter dog, a favorite of the screaming, clapping, blood-thirsty crowd in the Roman amphitheater. He puts fear into every creature he meets. Then one day he takes it too far and turns against his handlers.

Told through Daemon’s eyes, this story reveals how he escapes his upcoming execution and lives free in the uttermost parts of the earth. Unchained, he trails a man named “Jesus” until he meets him alone.”

No Pulling Back is unique in that it answers “yes” to the persistent and ageless question: “Did Jesus have a dog?”
